Maximus Productions is currently in production on a major new film for Outdoors TV that will profile canoe & kayak sprint racing. The programme is designed to reveal the excitement of this sport which is one of only two Olympic canoeing disciplines that will feature in the London Games in 2012. The programme is a collaboration between Outdoors TV & the Sprint Racing Committee of the British Canoe Union & will be used to attract new interest & support for sprint racing in the run up to the games. Filming is nearing completion & editing begins this week. Filming took place at the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham during a spring regatta, as well as at the Olympic Regatta venue at Dorney Lake near Windsor. Additional material was also gathered at Worcester & Southampton Canoe Clubs to illustrate the grass roots scene, which is the lifeblood of any sport. The programme will have a strong emphasis on attracting young paddlers into the sport & features interviews with reigning Olympic Champion Tim Brabants MBE, as well as 2012 hopeful Rachel Cawthorn. Post production is expected to take 4-6 weeks & the programme will be live on Outdoors TV from July until after the 2012 games. |
