Product placement is where brands pay a sponsorship fee to have their products used within a programme. In the case of Outdoors TV, product placement opportunities are available within our own factual programmes (as opposed to event or race coverage). It is likely that they will take the shape of equipment used within the programmes, such as a rucksack worn by a presenter or programme subject.
What is product placement?
Product Placement Info & FAQs
Product placement can be a powerful marketing tool. It represents the simplest form of promotion – delivering exposure without any specific message or strategy. The outdoors market is one that requires the use of equipment in many cases & therefore carefully placed product can deliver strong results for a brand, as viewers take note of the use of a particular piece of equipment in a specific situation, perhaps seeing its use as proof of competence.
How will product placement help me?
Product placement is arranged on a programme by programme basis with a minimum number of guaranteed views of the product built into the agreement. Product placement is available for single programmes or whole series, for an individual product or an entire range.
What’s involved?
Generally, we guarantee a minimum of five clear product views per item, per five minute programme. That way, we can ensure that there is a balance in favour of content & not lose the audiences’ confidence. It is highly likely however, that your brand exposure will exceed this (depending on the action sequences in the programme). Product placement means that items are used or worn by presenters & participants within the programme & therefore are visible whenever they are in shot. Where a single specific piece of equipment is used just once or twice within a programme, we will provide a tailored specification & quotation to suit.
